3 Things To Pray For Others
Date Published: 06 / 3 / 2026 |
Last week in my sermon I talked about praying for people.
We looked at 3 priorities from the prayer of the Apostle Paul found in Ephesians 1:13-23.
17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might
Here are the 3 topics of his prayer for those ancient Christians in Ephesus.
These 3 things are things you can pray for yourself and others.
1.) Pray they may have knowledge of God (v.17)
- Pray they may know about God
- Pray they come to know God personally
- Pray they experience God in their lives
2.) Pray that “the eyes of their heart may be enlightened (v.18)”
- Pray for gospel enlightenment in their mind
- Pray that the eyes of their heart may be opened to God’s perspectives
- Pray that light will shine in the dark places of their lives
3.) Pray for God’s power in their lives (v.19)
- Power to pray and worship
- Power to live the Christian life
- Power to forgive
- Power to heal
Homework:
Pick 3 Christians in your life to pray these 3 points for.
Take 15 minutes to sit down and pray for them.
Grace and peace,
Pastor Harvey
