Receive The Promises of God

Receive The Promises of God cover for post

Last week in my sermon (Cruciform Integrity: 2 Corinthians. 1:12-24) we covered many promises of God. The text we covered said this about God’s promises:

For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us….was not “Yes” and “No,” but in him it has always been “Yes.” For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.

2 Cor. 1:19-20

We learned that because Jesus fulfilled his mission, all the promises of God are “Yes” to us who believe in him.

Below are the promises we covered. To absorb God’s promises to you, take a minute with each one and do 3 things:

1.) Read the promise

2.) Believe the promise

3.) Thank God for the promise

Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness!

    You have given me relief when I was in distress.

    Be gracious to me and hear my prayer!

Psalm 4:1

You make known to me the path of life;

    in your presence there is fullness of joy;

    at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Psalm 16:11

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

    I will fear no evil,

for you are with me;

    your rod and your staff,

    they comfort me.

Psalm 23:4

Why do you boast of evil, O mighty man?

    The steadfast love of God endures all the day.

Psalm 52:1

My flesh and my heart may fail,

    but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Psalm 73:26

The Lord your God is in your midst,

    a mighty one who will save;

he will rejoice over you with gladness;

    he will quiet you by his love;

he will exult over you with loud singing.

Zephaniah 3:17

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28

God the Father who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Hebrews 13:5

Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

James 4:8

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9

He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!

May you live in these promises today!

Grace and Peace,
