Get Them To The Doctor
Date Published: 02 / 12 / 2025 |

On hearing this,
Jesus said to them,
“It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
Mark 2:17
Last week at All Souls Church we looked at Jesus calling sinners and notorious thugs into his discipleship circle. One man, Levi (aka Matthew) who was CEO of the sinners, even became an Apostle.
In the passage above, we learn that Jesus sees his ministry as spiritual health care.
He is looking for the sick,
especially those who know
they are sick and are looking
for relief.
Who in your life is suffering, sick, depressed, struggling, angry, lonely, trapped by addiction or circumstances?
Who in your life can you pray for?
Can you be a friend to them now?
Will you be the one to lead them to the Savior or invite them to church?
Jesus is recruiting sin-sick sinners
and healing them with his
presence and forgiveness.
Who can you begin praying for? Who needs your encouragement and presence? Who needs your love?
The people in your life are in your life so that some of them may come to Him.
Here are 3 practical steps to put Jesus’ instruction into practice:
1.) Pray for 2-3 individuals by name
2.) Contact them in the next month just to catch up
3.) Pray that All Souls Church will be a place that sick people can come see the Doctor.
Grace and peace,
Pastor Harvey
